Most animes come up with remarkable soundtracks. Some of them are very dynamic and even funny to listen; some are more calm, sweet, and relaxing; and still others are deep and sometimes depressing. There are lots of genres to consider! smile.gif

The sole purpose of this thread is therefore to give all anime song lovers a place to discuss about their preferences. Come on! Share with us your favorite musics! biggrin.gif

Obs: I guess the main purpose of this thread considerably differs from those located on the Music forum. But if Ghidra-Syxx-danchou-onii-chan thinks it should be there, feel free to move it! tongue.gif

Let me start:

I'm a huge fan of Rie Tanaka. Most of her songs appeared somewhere among the most famous anime. I particularly love those related to Gundam SEED and SEED Destiny:

1. Mizu no Akashi (Gundam SEED)

2. Fields of Hope

Another music which I trully love is Akatsuki no Kuruma:

I have been enjoying to listen "X.U." by Gemie:

Talking about openings, I'm really found of the OP related to season 2 of Suzumiya Haruhi:

"God knows" of Aya Hirano is memorable as well:

And you guys? What are your favortite anime songs?

We did one thread like this at the old forum, but I'm glad we're doing a new one.

First off, I think I'll just name some songs that may not be my number one favorites ever but are probably overlooked by a lot of people.

1. Project A-ko - In Your Eyes

This is a highly amusing song because it's an American style 80's love song by the voice actress for Jem (the Hasbro girls' cartoon) about B-ko's lesbian attraction to C-ko. XD z03.gif

2. Maze: the Megaburst Space (ED) - Junk Boy

This is a really fun ED with a great 90's j-pop feel. It also includes a Michael Jackson sample.

3. Sonic the Hedgehog OVA/The Movie - Look a Like

Really catchy 90's dance track. One of the most memorable things about the Sonic aniime! This is the second song in English on this list. laugh.gif

4. Galaxy Fraulein Yuna (ED/Yuri Cube Image Song) - Let's Go Out!

This is a real cute and peppy ending theme. One thing I like about it is that it's a love song about food since the character that sings it is obsessed with eating.

Edit: The embeds are now fixed so they play.

So many I can't list them all.

First off, the music from Shojō Kakumei Utena.

In addition to the music from the opening credits and two fo the three different closing credits, the music from ALL the fight scenes is worth listening on its own.

A few tracks are part of my all time favorite music tracks, all categories confounded.

Rinbu Revolution (opening credits)

Truth (closing credits 1)

Virtual Star Hasseigaku (closing credits 2)

Tenshi Sozō Sunawachi Hikari (1st fight between Utena and Juri, Student Council arc)

Chikyū wa Jinbutsu Chinretsushitsu (fight between Utena and Shiori, Black Rose arc)

Tanai Tokei Toshi Oruroi (fight between Utena and Akio, Apocalypse arc)

***

Next is Steins;Gate.

Again, I really love the music from both the opening credits and different closing credits. Now part of my favorite songs.

Hacking to The Gate (opening credits) performed by Kanako Itō

Tokitsukasadoru Jūni no Meiyaku (closing credits 1) performed by Sakakibara Yui

Sky Clad no Kansokusha (ending credits 2) performed by Kanako Itō

I've been a fan of Itō Kanako ever since I discovered Steins;Gate's opening credits song and the excellent Sky Clad no Kansokusha. smile.gif

If you must listen to only one song from the Steins;Gate soundtrack, I'd say you listen to the symphonic version of Sky Clad no Kansokusha. This song gives me shivers, literally!

Sky Clad no Kansokusha (symphonic version) performed by Kanako Itō

***

Third is... Cowboy Bebop.

The music from the whole series is just amazing, but the opening really is something apart!

Tank! (opening credits) by the Seatbelts

I am myself a bebop and hard bop lover, so no surprises here! This jam is just amazing!!!

***

I could list many more, but I'll try to limit myself to a few ones I really, really like:

Mezane from Mai-HiME by Kaijura Yuki

This one is dramatic and has a great upbeat tempo!

SHINE from Seirei no Moribito's opening credits by L'Arc-en-Ciel

Inspiring!

Chizu Sanpo from Maria-sama ga miteru Season 4's opening credits by Kukui

Cheers me up when things aren't going as well as I'd like.

Going with the other active topic on Lupin III:

There used to be more Lupin music on YouTube, but it's gone.
I did get a CD off EBay years ago though.

There's a lot of Lupin music, but I felt this had some of the best tracks (and more than title theme remixes).

My favorite humor-based anime has some great tracks as well. I'll consider buying the OST someday. Til then, enjoy!

Lupin video doesn't work for people outside of Colombia (I have no idea why lol). I have the song collection for the first season. Has all those 60's-ish "Lupin, he's a nice man" songs on it, but no background music.

I'm a HUGE fan of any music related to The Idolm@ster: Cinderella Girls. The opening theme for season 1 (Star!) is particularly nice:

TOKIMEKI Escalate is my favorite music from the Cinderella Girls series:

This is somewhat justified, since I love Jougasaki Mika. LOL

I'll try to post many other musics later.
