Thanks
Btw TB74, who's that anime character who was angered and knocked her head?
That's Atsuko Kagari, aka Akko, from
Little Witch Academia. Think of
Little Witch Academia as a
Hogwarts for girls only, with main characters Atsuko (clumsy but driven), Lotte (shy and kindhearted) and Soucy (clever and wicked) filling in for Harry, Ron and Hermione (not necessarily in that order).
The first short film (about 26 minutes or so) was born out of a kickstarter project. It got a lot of positive reviews and was very popular, so it was soon followed by a 55-minute anime feature,
Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade. Trigger (which produced the demented
KILL la KILL) is the studio behind it. Thanks the huge success the movies got, a TV series is in the works. I can hardly wait for it!
Both the short and full-length movies are available on Netflix and are worth the 80 minutes viewing. The two movies are funny, well animated, have great action scenes and are quite crazy!
EDIT: The first, 26-min
Little Witch Academia wasn't brought to life with a Kickstarter project, as it was produced by Trigger with the help of a government fund to support animators in training called Anime Mirai (now Anime Tamago). However, the second, 55-min movie was funded in part by a Kickstarted project. Error corrected. Also included the image that brought this post up, as I will probably change my signature in the future, as well as another picture I used in my signature since then.
More of Atsuko's clumsiness:
