I attempted to start a "garage" band at high school with a few friends. I knew how to write songs, but you don't need talent to sing in a "shock rock" band (obscene language, references to adult themes, and politically-charged words) about how you hate the world, everything, everyone and yourself. The band's name was picked: "Canis Lupus", a latin zoological term for "wolf" and I knew other bands in the Palm Springs area I might hired to play for the band. Unfortunately, the band idea never got off the ground and the hired band members went to other ventures in life (college, work, marriage or moved out). I was an angry, depressed, kinda rebellious and outcasted teen goin to a high school 8 miles from me (I loved "integrated school busing" dont you? J/K my Mom chose that school to be close to work). Lots of rock bands including Nirvana starring one messed up man, Kurt Cobain was my prototype for rock music if not my hero...he never should committed suicide in the peak of his career.

If you've never heard one, imagine a poorly played flute. It's not the prettiest sounding thing or anything, but I can play a mean version of "Hot Cross Buns" on it.
