I've had the special edition Part 1 box pre-ordered on Amazon since like, Saturday. I figure $56 is a damn good deal for everything in it, and well...if the box set turns out to be pricier than expected, Amazon won't charge me that. In the event, it's actually cheaper. They'll sell it to me for less. Hopefully it actually comes out, unlike that time I pre-ordered Shin Chan in September '07 and had to wait til May '08. Should be out Tommorow though. Best Buy flyers are already touting regular Part 1s for like $25. They did screw up ECW Bloodsport, but that was by one week. They were cool about it though, and kept the sale price til the following week. And that free Milly poster I made with PosteRazor is fucking tits. Edit:
Seems to be an old comment or Amazon f'ed up back then, as both Part 1 boxes list the widescreen. Nothing on the individuals, but I assume they are also widescreen. Never really understood why they make fullscreen and widescreen DVDs. Never understood fullscreen at all really, but eh, some people like it. More DVDs need to be like "Air Force One" as a result. One side is fullscreen, the other, widescreen. Everyone wins. Course does cut down on special features and requires a second disc. Or they could be like the Bond ones and be like "Want fullscreen? So umm...Amazon says they aren't shipping my box set until next Monday. DAMN YOU AMAZON. DAMN YOU! Has anyone at least seen the box? Is it nice? Heavy? Metal? But ummm..look what I found with Youtube...  Code Geass game delivers Nurse Outfits. And the chans brought this:  YAR. And it's not just Pizza Hut. Probably a parody ad, as I can't find any proof that the two properties ever agreed to a contract. *also finds Stone Cold vs. Booker T in the grocery store* FUCK. YES. |

I went looking at borders this afternoon but they didn't have it....I will probably find at Ota, then jack my friends comp to post bout it. BTW, I found a really....interesting.....doujin pairing that I posted in the Laundromat. Something that I've considered buying simply for the lulz. I was actually watching that bunnysuit episode at work today. Man, that was a good/bad idea.  Made work seem longer, I'll tell you that, heh.

Fucking A they shipped it this morning from Springfield MA which is about 30 minutes from me. Should be here by the end of the week, unless Amazon does that stupid thing where they send it to a sorting center in like, Denver first than to my house. In the meantime, Shirley can't cook: Milly and Lelouch can though. |

^ Part 1 box GET.  Has all the aforementioned cool things like the DVDs (1 thru 9 in total), manga volume, design sketches and info, and the 2 CDs. They translated a drama CD into english (even though it's like 6 little skits)...I think that's a first. The ones I listened too were a hoot, though I still have to get used to the english voices. (Shirley and Millay sound the same to me at times)And the picture dramas are on the DVDs. The "oh, lets make a hotsprings omake for the lulz" skit is on the second DVD. Other than that, I got a LOT of Geass related stuff at the Dealer's Hall this past Ota, and this week's release for R2 is BANGIN'.  So Mez's love for CG is filling up hella nicely this week. (look toward the laundromat for some 'samples' of some of the things I got....heh heh  )

Got my box set yesterday. It was raining though, so the Amazon box got like it's ass kicked. The "CG" box itself survived though. It's made of plastic by golly. Not quite as cool as metal, but better than cardboard. In addition to what Mez has said, the Pizza Hut logos DID NOT survive the localization. Don't know why this is, but they are not there. The DVDs are uncensored as expected though. Can't remember ever getting an anime DVD I got with blurred out nudity, removal of blood and bleeped out swears. Oh, and my DVD's have that weird smell to them that "The Machine Girl" has. Honestly, of all my DVDs, CG and TMG are the only ones with a distinct odor. I don't know why this is, but for my health, I won't be smelling them. Can't be good for me. Did not realize that Kallen's VA is named Karen. Found that pretty LULZY. Also dig the cover of the drama CD, as long as it is Lelouch hiding C.C. by dressing her up as a bush. As far as the booklets go, they are pretty awesome. Commentary, interviews, tech information (would rock a BER-054), Lulu teaching Suzaku history, and diaries from the "Maid". So yeah, if you like CG, BUY THIS. Oh, and according to the sketchbook, I think Milly has the biggest chest.  Yar. (NOT ON DVD. THINK THIS IS A FANSUB). I also think she'd be a republican. No, I don't know why I thought of anime characters and political parties. I was probably bored as hell. |

So, I watched last weeks "Code Geass" and I am pissed. A certain...silver haired character pushed the envelope of dignity, respect, bounds and caused on of Lelouche's friends epic pain and suffering. I am of course, speaking of Lloyd and his marriage proposal to Milly. I FUCKING called dibs on her you prick. You saw how pissed Rivalz was. Poor Rivalz. |

LOL....You had me going for a bit. I remember thinking "hoo, Trilly's gon be PISSED" when I watched that, but no need to despair. Lloyd can't break the magic of Millen. Meanwhile, just watched bits of the latest R2. DAMN I can't believe I have to wait another week.  It was one of those where there's a BIG change up on things and you're lead to wonder "Well, what next? Wahappen!?" Preview didn't really indicate anything happening either, so next week is one big mystery...Also, apparently Kallen's been my muse for a month. O_O Partly because with TS done there's little competition for my attention, but mostly.....she still kicks so much ass.

1. Oh, I already know how it ends. Happily. Not for him, for ME. 2. R2 18? Yeah, I read the ending or so of that one. Goddamn that's a nail baiter. Also this: 
 RIP Random Hot Blonde Chick: ?/?/???? - 8/15/08. Never Forget. Oh, and some people claim that the Code Geass DVDs are...defective. I haven't heard of a definitive error place to test them, or is it's the DVD player having issues. I'd test them to be safe, but don't know how you'd test them aside from watching EVERYTHING. Edit: One person said the easiest way to test this is to watch the last minutes of Episode Nine, and if your DVD starts freezing, you're boned and need a replacement. I did read that it took longer to get them to the East Coast and some stores turned away their intial shipment, so there is a chance that mine is safe. Edit II: Tested Vol 2 on my DVD player. FUCK. Epic pause about 9:10 in on chapter 23 (or part 2 episode 9) on Disc 2. Will test later on 360. There's also a pause between the closing theme and the preview for ep 10, but eh, I can live with that. It's like a loading pause. Waiting for people to get replacement discs in before sending mine, just to see if the fixed it. Edited by Trillium, Aug 18 2008, 01:06 PM.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD for those that haven't dabbled to far ahead of AS, so....
The most recent ep had Rivalz and Milly reunite in the aftermath of the current badness. Methinks....it's finally time CG stopped dicking around and forged another def couple aside from Suzu and Euphie. And the Lulu X Kallen, which will go on forever since main characters are never allowed to have any fun with each other.
Acutally R2 20. I really have NO idea where they're gonna go from there, since Lelouche is going solo, and there's a wierd ceasefire, so there's no big battle going on. I think its going to be more with the "ancient world" and all that stuff. But in the end, the preview shows you like jack shit, so you can really make an inference.
Apparently, she was important enough to appear on the series' Japanese character info site. Had a buddy to it seems. Nice costumes. No doubt that its all about hentai baiting. Oh, and care to guess who kicked their asses? *grin* Survival of the HOTTEST.That was a hella good ep. I was high off it for a week. END SPOILERS
Well, my DVD1 gets wierd on episode 5 and parts of 4. There are some marks on it that might've come from me cleaning it, but nothing super major. Also, the picture drama acts up too. DVD2....works for the most part. I was watching 9 last night and it started lagging in the middle of the second part. I'll check the rest of it tonight. Sad that it's THAT episode for all my Kallen-happy-sleepytime desires, but I do have it on my iPod for when I need English CG on the go. Thankfully, the picture dramas work on DVD2.
I might try on my PS2, since I know my DVD player dislikes other DVDs that are perfectly fine. Like Gold Throbber, lol, but I guess its trying to save me from a really bad-cheesy hentai. Might try the one in the living room, but I figure it'll lock there too. I'll also wait until you get more info before worrying about sending. Otherwise, bummed that CG got skipped this past weekend for the ATHF movie. Means I gotta wait longer for the glory of 19 to air, is all.  I really, REALLY want to hear the english dialouge for that episode, and if they cut out the "waterfall shower-nekkid charge-Rock Lee flip-RAEP TIEM pin" combo. I've gotten used to the english voices as well as I have to the japanese ones, though I still can't tell Milly and Shirley apart on the drama CD sometimes.

1. Yeah, there was a brief moment toward the end of "Eureka 7" where everything was like, calm and peaceful, and than FROM OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE shit happens. It was one of the best moments ever, cause you were like "Well...everyone's fucked now...and we only have three episodes to go!" 2. My Vol. 1 appears to be fine, which is pretty lucky on my part. I'm more pissed about how Bandai like, is saying that this is a "minor" problem. Two out of 50 people getting defective "The Spy Who Loved Me Disc 2s" during the Amazon sale is limited, (as far as I know, my entire Bond set is in working order. I am NOT fucking testing everything on 40 discs.) The two of us seem to have dodged a major bullet though, as some people apparently can't watch them AT ALL. 3. I remember when my PS2 was dieing and the ONLY movie it liked was "Moonstruck". Cher, Nicholas Cage, romantic comedy etc. To save my masculinity, my mom bought it. ....istilllikeit. Which is weird, cause my brain's usual reaction to romantic comedies is to be all "GOD DAMMIT STOP THIS SHIT!" 4. I've contacted them already. No reply back, but we'll see how it goes. Some people have sent them back, but no one has gotten one in return yet. I've heard that no one's ever engaged with them and it's taken like 4 tries to get a good one (unlike Microsoft's 360 return fun fest), but we shall see. Edit: Also pointing out that I contacted them last night, so it hasn't been that long. Hopefully they actually do something soon, and won't be like that time I contacted Food Network, waited three weeks and got an e-mail basically saying "I don't know what you mean". If they take a while, I'll probably phone them up. Edit II:

Never got back on this. It runs WORSE on the 360. It like hangs up to the point where the 360 tells me it can't read the disc and I just give up. Basically, if you have more than one DVD player in your house, test the disc(s) on all of them. It may be better on a different player. |

Still no reply back. In fact, no real move on Bandai's part to let people know these things are defective or send out fixed ones. Maybe they don't know what the problem is. Or maybe they like, don't give a shit and want to sell as many of these as possible before the floodgates of pissed off fans open. |

^ Whoa! That completely sucks about the DVD's, glad I waited a bit... Anyhoo, just finished watching the sub of R2 episode 21, and my initial reaction was "WTF?!?" - I recall making some comment a long time ago in the anime thread about similarities between CG and EVA, but apparently there's quite a bit more in common than I first thought, as witnessed by this episodes plunge into Carl Jung country. That, and and one of the characters gets a big job promotion and brings along a friend, which kinda left me scratching my head....(???)

^ HELL yeah! That was such a ballin' ending! I watched it raw (while waiting for the subs to dl) and flipped at that bit. Texted my friends that follow it and told them that CG got awesome again. Even made up for the lack of mah gurl in this past ep. BUT I think she'll have a big scene in the next episode. At the same time, I have the slightest feeling of dread that she might get axed. Expect a major Mez meltdown if such is the case. Oh, and next weeks ep on Cartoon Network will be AWESOME....if they don't cut the epic/lulzy Kallen and Suzaku waterfall scene. Eitherway, I really want to have the dub for that episode. Come to think of it, it could be called "Wife Swap: Kanemajima"

Part of me thinks Kallen is SO important that offing her would be stupid. And the other part is all "Well, what better way to make the villain hated than by killing a fan favorite?" I remember when "Noein" "offed" Haruka like toward the end. Did a nice job of making me really hope the villain would get his ass kicked somehow.
It's not so much that they don't work but that they don't care. BUT THERE IS GOOD NEWS: Not only are people saying Badai is sending out good discs if you contact them, but they cover shipping and send you useless "We are sorry" bonus shit. I don't really want a .hack roots ipod/phone/camera case thingie, but hey, I'll take it. One persons disc II doesn't seem to work right, but it seems they are fixing these now. Good on them. Still no e-mail yet, but I think I'll get on the phone later this week and do something now that they appear to be sending out good discs. |

HOLY SHIT BANDAI E-MAILED ME BACK. Basically, all they want is the disc and I have to fill out this form and print out the e-mail and send it away. I'll have to wait...god knows how long, but my backlog is big enough to keep me occupied...plus I already saw the episodes anyway:p Oh, and they ONLY do this for America and Canada. So if you're overseas (or Mexico, which is ummm...not overseas technically), ummm...you're fucked. If you must have it though, go through DVD Pacific, cause I've heard they'll help you out with this. Ninja Edit: Rightstuf claims that the ones they have now are good, so I'd say it's safe to buy from them. Mostly cause Rightstuf and Shawne actually seem to give a fuck about the consumer, unlike say, Best Buy. |

^ Ordered -(CD Pacific) - Probably good timing too, given the news that [as] is being shitty about CG's schedule... hmmm... is it just me, or has anyone else noticed some similarities between CG and 'V For Vendetta'? Not only in some of the plot devices (lone revolutionary fighting repressive British regime etc..), but some visual cues as well... Example:  gotta wonder if maybe the writers of CG may have taken in a screening of 'Vendetta' just prior to their creation of the series..... |

Well, good luck on them being non-defective DVDs there. The odds of your Vol. I working well is much higher than Vol. II. And possibly Manga/CDs. Depending on which package you went for. I haven't heard of bad CDs yet, but yeah, at least two people got busted Mangas. |

Lol, it's Anon! I still have to see that movie. All I really know about it, I learned from 4chan/ED, heh. Also....the reddish one by the (lol) Zero dog: totally Kallen.
....even the mangas?...O_O How?..... Bandai, WTF! Damn, I still have to check the soundtrack CD. I'm assuming it works due to the fact that its in one piece and since the drama CD (with Brown Agony, lol) is fine. |
